Some ELC tier 5 running around? A HE magnet. Some tanks even at high levels have no armor, and A round of HE will really hurt them compared to your regular ammo, plus it won't bounce off. Your main goal is to be able to switch ammo when needed, and to learn to do it well. You will be using regular ammo as your main source for most fights, and AP and HE ammo in certain circumstances. You should always carry some of each type, you never know when you'll need them in a fight, or when the best circumstance will arise. Again, some tanks with bigger derp guns use HE exclusively, so those rules don't apply to them, since they use it as "regular ammo". ![]() Or against a tank that even your AP ammo won't pen from the front. It's used for special circumstances, such as hitting a tank in the rear (a ligher armored tank) that will actually pen. You won't use it much, because for most tanks it does not much more than regular ammo, and a WHOLE LOT less pen. HE ammo is good for backup to your normal ammo. They are for those rare chances where you really need to pen and do some damage, like vs heavy armored tanks that are almost dead, and you penetration is something you 100% must have. You don't use this for most of the battle, only in extreme circumstances since it costs credits. Some tanks have HE as their "normal ammo" so it doesnt apply to them.Īrmor piercing ammo is a backup. Your goal is to learn where and how to shoot tanks with your regular ammo in order to damage them. Your normal ammo is the main staple in the battle.
